Friendly faces welcome buyers at Inspiration Hills
A cozy, friendly neighborhood off Interstate 410, Inspiration Hills is known for its welcoming community. "A lot of people know each other. People are very friendly in that area," says RJ Reyes, a Realtor with Keller Williams San Antonio, who has been selling real estate in the city for 21 years.
Sun-drenched streets and Spanish-style abodes
Homes in Inspiration Hills start at around $250,000 and can reach up to about $500,000. "There are a lot of larger lots and custom home builds in Inspiration Hills," says Reyes. "Those houses have a lot to offer." The sun-drenched streets typically have little tree cover, and you tend to see basketball hoops in driveways and neighbors out and about waving to each other up and down the neighborhood's sidewalks. You'll find Spanish Revival and ranch-style properties, along with the unique custom builds in the area, like ranch homes with detached dwellings in the backyard. Brick and stone are particularly popular in those properties. When homes have lawns, they tend to be well-kept, but the Texas heat leaves many front yards in the area packed with dirt or lined with rocks.

Eat at fast-casual restaurants like Jack in The Box and Whataburger, or head to Las Islas Marias, a local seafood restaurant. Grab a table in the open and airy spot, and order shrimp, lobster or scallions. Wonderland of Americas, a popular indoor mall, is minutes from the neighborhood. It's home to Target, Burlington, Starbucks and other businesses if you need to get groceries, clothes or a cup of coffee.

Getting fresh air at Woodlawn Lake
To get some fresh air, locals head to Woodlawn Lake Park. "Woodlawn Lake is where most people go, if they want to visit a park," Reyes says. In addition to the lake in the park's center, you'll also find a public pool, gym, sports fields and courts around the park. Sunset Hills Park is another popular spot, especially for basketball fans, thanks to the popular courts on the park grounds.
