Community within the city
Rich in culture and community, Alessandro is one of the many package-sized neighborhoods in San Bernardino, California's 18th most populous city. Despite the location within a larger city, businesses here tend to be locally owned. Residents often frequent the storefronts dispersed throughout the neighborhood such as Best Market or regional chain El Super, and then pick up takeout from family-owned restaurant Mitla Cafe. Realtor Joel Espinoza of the eXp Realty Group relays how friendly the community is: “That's what comes to mind–every time I was in the area, the neighbors always made it a pleasant experience.” Most houses here were constructed during the mid-20th century, reflected by the ranch-style homes that line the streets. An occasional Spanish Colonial home may also be found, a callback to the area's Spanish Missionary roots. Prices range from $350,000 to $550,000. To venture outside the neighborhood, locals are a 2.2-mile drive away from downtown San Bernardino, the city's central business district.
Josie's Bakery is a local favorite with its many baked goods and sweet treats.
