Pastel-colored homes and modern condos
Bayview’s wide residential streets feature paved sidewalks and a mix of condos and attached single-family homes with a few clusters of semi-detached properties. Some of the neighborhood’s side streets are situated on steep hill slopes, while other main street sections are relatively straight, flat and tree-lined. A lot of homes are pastel-colored, and many feature very large front windows, from arched to bay styles. The properties lack front yards; however, it’s common for homes to be adorned with small, well-landscaped shrubs and succulents. The housing makeup typically consists of Mediterranean styles with stucco roofs, Victorians, Rousseau storybook types and modern condominiums. Condos can start around $420,000 for one bedroom and can go up to $865,000 for four bedrooms. Single-family homes range from $750,000 to $1.3 million.Art-filled parks and waterfront trails

The colorful park features public art displays created by local school kids, outdoor workout equipment, a modern playground and numerous benches and picnic tables where residents can sit and take in some of the best views of the bay and San Francisco Hillsides. To the east of the neighborhood is India Basin Shoreline Park, another spot for admiring the views and a small waterfront playground, basketball courts and a walking and biking path. Bordering the neighborhood is the vast Southwest Community Center, known for hosting neighborhood events. It features many beautiful, dog-friendly outdoor green spaces and garden areas where residents like to hang out and mingle with neighbors in the community.A thriving shopping and dining scene on 3rd Street
Running directly through the neighborhood, 3rd Street is Bayview’s main hotspot for shopping and dining. The restaurant offerings showcase a wide variety of cuisines, from Asian to Mexican and Southern comfort food. All Good Pizza is a highly rated outdoor spot, serving thin-crust pizza out of a food truck within a massive industrial-style outdoor patio full of hand-painted picnic tables and repurposed metal art. The popular Tato eatery makes street tacos from scratch with high-quality ingredients in a trendy, open kitchen-style setting. Old Skool Café is a significant neighborhood staple run by local at-risk youth to help them learn skills and gain work experience. Known for its gumbo and fried chicken, the café is decked out in speakeasy-style decor with old vintage red velvet furniture and a 1940s jazz bar set-up. Nearby, Tallio’s Coffee and Tea is a welcoming and neighborly spot that roasts its own coffee beans and offers pastries, sandwiches and a shaded outdoor parklet for residents to enjoy. Tallio’s is also known for supporting the community, often displaying and selling artisan crafts from local artists. The Super Save Supermarket is the biggest location for an in-house meat market and grocery staples, while next door, Torino is a small all-in-one market with essential household shopping selections plus standard grocery items and a deli that serves sandwiches and pizzas.Multiple bus routes and main highway intersections
The San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni) bus stops run along the neighborhood’s 3rd Street, with routes leading to nearby BART rail stations. A prominent intersection of Interstate 280 and Route 101 is situated west of the neighborhood for commuting or traveling around the San Francisco Peninsula. Residents can head to the park to sit on the open green lawn for outdoor screenings of family-friendly movies under the stars. The neighboring Southeast Community Center hosts numerous get-togethers, from holiday community mixers such as the annual Black History Month Parade and Block Party with live entertainment, local food vendors and a kids’ zone.
