San Francisco neighborhood with a namesake park and scenic views
Rising more than 500 feet above central San Francisco is Corona Heights. This primarily residential neighborhood is best known for its eponymous park with a kids’ museum and trails that make way for panoramic views of the Bay and city hillsides. Its location also provides a balance of relaxed living while still within walking distance of buzzier San Francisco hotspots. “Corona Heights is a great place to live,” says Tim Gullicksen, a local Realtor at Corcoran Icon Properties and San Francisco resident for over 20 years. “You have incredible views, peace and quiet, and even though it feels more remote because it’s so residential, you are very close to Castro for shops and restaurants and Market Street, which will whisk you away to downtown.”
Corona Heights offers stunning panoramic views of downtown San Francisco from its hilltop parks.

Courtney’s Produce is within walking distance on 14th Street, while less than a mile south is Mollie’s Stone’s Markets for more grocery items. A public park that’s home to the Randall Museum
Corona Heights Park is the neighborhood’s namesake. Sprawling for 15 hilltop acres, the park includes a dog run area, tennis courts and a 1-mile trail full of wildlife from lizards to birds and butterflies. The site also features a grassy lawn and a popular museum. "The jewel of the park, especially for kids, is the Randall Museum--a clean, shiny, and friendly natural history and arts museum,” says longtime San Francisco resident David Lytle, former editor of the city's 7x7 Magazine. “Getting an annual membership is a brilliant idea if you have littles, because they have science, art and animal-themed workshops every Saturday. But you can take adult arts and crafts classes, too." The park is also a scenic hotspot in the spring, with a rainbow of wildflowers scattered around the hill, and there’s always something blooming at the park's community garden. Directly north of the neighborhood, the 36-acre Buena Vista Park features trails, live oak groves and city vistas. This expansive site also features an off-leash dog play area and a popular children’s playground. Less than a mile west is Mount Olympus, a 570-foot hilltop green space. The monument at the top marks the exact middle of the city.
