“It’s a nice residential area that’s close to a lot of outdoor stuff, as you have Lake Merced right there, and it's next to Pine Lake Park,” says Tim Gullicksen, a local realtor at Corcoran Icon Properties and San Francisco resident for over 20 years. “It’s a popular area for more active types because there’s a lot of recreational opportunities around here.” Merced Manor borders several green spaces, including Pine Lake Park and Lake Merced. These areas offer miles of walking trails, playgrounds, open fields and wooded scenery. Lake Merced Park is one of the city's largest parks and includes two golf courses and a fishing pier. The nearby Sigmund Stern Grove park adds to the outdoor appeal with its forest landscape and seasonal events. Cyclists have easy access to routes around Lake Merced and the Great Highway.

What to know about San Francisco’s school choice system
San Francisco uses a citywide school choice system, and families submit ranked preferences rather than receiving assignments tied strictly to their home address.
