Historic suburb of south San Francisco
Summery Mediterranean Revival homes with red-tiled rooftops and arched doorways line the windy streets of this historic hillside community. “They’re absolutely beautiful. They just don’t make homes like this today,” says Realtor Sandra Onken Fiek of Compass Realty. Located in southwest San Francisco, Mount Davidson Manor was one of the city’s original streetcar suburbs — it’s close enough to commute to downtown while still feeling removed from the city’s towering office buildings, skyscrapers and entertainment venues.
Mount Davidson Manor is a section of the Ingleside and consists mostly of single-family homes.
The views from Mount Davidson Manor generally extend to the south, when not shrouded in fog.

Pastel-colored, Mediterranean Revival homes
Unlike most of the city, the homes in Mount Davidson are detached dwellings, offering residents more privacy and larger lot sizes than the average San Francisco home. Its curvy streets wind up gentle inclines, some of which offer views of the Pacific Ocean in the distance. Homes in the community typically feature a first-floor garage with living quarters on the floor above and large, street-facing living room windows. “They’re a little larger than your typical Sunset style home, and a lot of them have views of the hills and the cityscape,” says Realtor Samantha Competente of Compass Realty. Many of these homes have been well-kept or have been renovated with modern amenities like refinished hardwood floors, new appliances and large windows allowing peek-a-boo views of the ocean. Prices generally range from around $1.5 to $2 million for two- and three-bedroom homes while those with four or more bedrooms can top $3 million.
