Home of San Francisco’s tallest skyscrapers and national baseball stadium

The booming South Beach district is surrounded by skyscrapers that define the San Francisco skyline. “In South Beach, you are looking up everywhere,” says Jonathan Ng, a local Real Broker Associate who was born and raised in San Francisco. “It’s all high rises and is more becoming like the city’s downtown.” Located south of the city's Financial District along the San Francisco Bay shoreline, high-rise luxury condos are interspersed with the offices of major companies such as Salesforce, Google, KPMG and Deloitte. “People who need that newness or people used to city life, especially those coming from New York City, often gravitate towards South Beach,” Ng says. But the district is more than just a major metropolitan hub and job center. Bayside parks, a major league baseball stadium, marinas and fishing piers by the water make this a popular place to relax, unwind and enjoy some of the city’s most admired recreational sites.

Upscale dining and Michelin restaurants

Residents of South Beach can enjoy many dining and shopping options throughout the area, with many of the city’s top-rated fine dining offerings, including Saison. This two-Michelin-star restaurant serves upscale New American specialties with table-side presentations in an intimate, open kitchen setting. Nearby, the Michelin guide featured ROOH SF dishes out Indian food with an innovative spin and creative hand-crafted cocktails. Going a little more casual, the 21st Amendment Brewery and Restaurant on 2nd Street is a highly-rated spot with local beers on tap and pub grub-style food in a cool, community-style dining space. Also on 2nd Street is Garaje, one of the more laid-back counter-service spots in South Beach, with a mix of American and Mexican favorites from classic burgers to authentic tacos. For grocery essentials, Whole Foods is located right outside the neighborhood on 4th Street, or there’s a Safeway on King Street.

Waterfront parks and bayside marinas

South Beach’s Rincon Park, located on the northern side, is a popular waterfront park known for its giant arrow sculpture and grassy promenade area for walking and jogging. It’s also a popular spot for watching boats pass through the bay. Multiple marinas reside along the neighborhood’s eastern border, which touches the Bay, with one of the local favorites being Pier 40. Here, residents can enjoy water biking, sailing, kayaking and boating. South Beach Harbor sits south of the San Francisco Ferry Building, home to over 700 berths with some of the city’s most scenic bay views. The neighborhood has other recreational sites, including the quaint waterfront South Beach Park with a playground and climbing structures and The Crossing at East Cut, featuring an outdoor movie amphitheater, athletic facilities and playgrounds that sit underneath the district's skyscrapers.

Concerts at Oracle Park and museum gatherings

Residents are within walking distance of Oracle Park, which is not only home to the San Francisco Giants baseball games but also big-scale city events, including musical concerts and performances by some of the biggest national acts. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is also nearby for social gatherings. Along with a yearly lineup of rotating art exhibits, the museum organizes community events, including an artist speaker series and live music performances.
