Diverse housing options and prices in Oak Ridge

Midcentury ranch-style homes from the 1960s and ‘70s dominate the neighborhood, mixed with New Traditional properties from the late 1990s and the early 2000s. Houses are set on compact lots, sitting close together. Home prices typically range from $1.1 million to $2.3 million. Townhouses from the late 1990s sell between the mid-$700,000s and $900,000, with monthly HOA fees covering recreational amenities and landscaping. “It’s a very nice, self-contained area,” says Astha Mathur, Realtor at Compass with over 15 years of experience. “There’s a big Kaiser hospital nearby, you’ve got your everyday stores like Costco, nature areas, parks and schools; it’s very family-friendly and everything’s right there.” The convenience and perks are attracting lots of buyers. “It’s going to go up in value in the future because there are so many new homebuyers here," says Ashwin Veeravalli, a real estate agent with The Agency with over a decade of experience. "It’s an amazing return on investment."

Public, charter and private schools around Oak Ridge

Families in Oak Ridge are served by Oak Grove School District for elementary and middle school levels. Options include Herman Intermediate School, which covers fifth to eighth grades and provides a strong STEM curriculum. Students often advance to Santa Teresa High School, which is part of East Side Union High School District and offers extensive after-school extracurricular activities and sports.
