Most of the neighborhood consists of single-family homes from the 1970s and 1980s. Architectural styles vary widely. "Quimby comes with universal appeal of great schools," says Mark DeTar, Realtor with Compass Real Estate. Students attend schools in the Evergreen and East Side Union High school districts. They start at Norwood Creek Elementary School before heading to Quimby Oak Middle School. Evergreen Valley High School is highly rated by Niche and offers a sought-after computer science academy. All three schools are within a short walk or bike ride of the neighborhood.

Groesbeck Hill Park and the foothills are the recreation hubs
Groesbeck Hill Park is the local go-to for recreation. Covering more than 25 acres, the park has everything from a playground and a variety of sports courts to a walking path leading to a scenic hilltop overlook. For a larger outdoor experience, the neighborhood is just 5 miles, or 15 minutes, from Joseph D. Grant County Park. "As you keep going up Quimby Road toward the park, the road gets steep and windy. It feels like you've escaped to another country," DeTar says. Joseph D. Grant County Park is the most expansive regional park in Santa Clara County, covering nearly 11,000 acres. Its hills, valleys and mountains hold miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding.

How commuters reach downtown and north San Jose
Most commuters get around the city and the wider Silicon Valley area by car. Tully and Quimby roads lead to East Capitol Expressway, which connects to Highway 101 and Interstate 680. You can reach Downtown San Jose and North San Jose job centers in less than 15 miles, or roughly 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Cyclists can take advantage of the city's bike lanes and trail network for recreation and commuting.
