Convenient San Leandro hub next to the airport and San Francisco Bay
Davis Tract is a neighborhood of San Leandro next to the bay and the San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. Not only does it conveniently have a major area highway running through it, but it also offers housing for first-time home buyers. “It’s a great starter home neighborhood,” says Casey Serafino-Lee with Intero Real Estate, a Bay Area Realtor raised in San Leandro. "The majority of the homes are under 1,500 square feet and were built after World War II, so it's pretty affordable." Having this type of housing opportunity within the sprawling San Leandro community is a significant perk. “In general, there’s a lot in the San Leandro area, and it’s a good place if you are wanting to save money,” says Robert Schwartz, a San Leandro resident for over 20 years and longtime property manager at the nearby Gardens apartment complex. “It’s still near the bay, which is nice; crime seems to be way less than in other areas near here, and it's less commercialized than Fremont.”
