A walkable Santa Ana neighborhood with Craftsman architecture
In French Court, locals can walk from their bungalows to neighborhood restaurants. Then they can stroll to the Bowers Museum, one of Santa Ana’s most popular spots. “The main draw is definitely the architecture and also the proximity. It’s centrally located to the Bowers Museum, MainPlace Mall and downtown, so it’s a very vibrant area,” says Realtor Loni Paniagua, who works with Seven Gables Real Estate and has over five years of experience. French Court is across the street from French Park, a historic district well known for its home architecture. Although French Court doesn’t have as many of these homes, opting for more apartment buildings, it has plenty of Craftsman houses. This convenient neighborhood has a busy urban feel, from which it’s easy to get to downtown Santa Ana — only a mile away.

Craftsman homes in French Court
North of downtown, French Court’s northern and western borders have plenty of businesses along them, giving the area an active vibe. The rest of the neighborhood is residential, with highly walkable blocks of apartment buildings and single-family homes. These lie in yards often decorated with palm trees, fences and garden beds full of agave plants. The architecture consists of houses from the 1910s and 1920s, especially Craftsman bungalows and larger Craftsman houses. For pricing, Craftsman bungalows range from $800,000 to $1 million, while larger Craftsman homes range from $1.1 million to $1.2 million. Those looking in the area may want to keep a close eye on it: “I would consider the market hot. There're definitely a lot of people trying to stay close to downtown because they're so centrally located to the freeways and everything around it,” Paniagua says.
