Sandpointe offers quick access to amenities in southern Santa Ana

Sandpointe is a Santa Ana neighborhood homebuyers will appreciate for a family friendly environment and plenty of variety close to home. Within its compact rectangular shape are parks, schools, and spots to shop and eat. “It’s almost perfect,” Tuesday Figueroa, a Realtor with Realty One Group Anaheim, says. “It’s one of my personal favorites out of Santa Ana neighborhoods.”

Spanish-influenced homes sit behind abundant trees and quiet streets

The streets are not laid out in a grid; most loop around, and many end in cul-de-sacs. This creates a traffic-calming effect, as there are few major through streets, so children can enjoy playing outside. “Sandpointe has not changed much since I was a child,” Figueroa, who was born and raised in Santa Ana, says. “Last time I was there, I saw kids roller-skating in the streets.” You can expect to see adults out and about, too, walking along the pleasant sidewalks or working on their yards, many of which are open without fencing or walls. Palms, cypresses, hedges and drought-tolerant plants punctuate the scenery. Driveways and two-car garages are prevalent, and some homes have a backyard pool. Single-family homes are priced from about $750,000 to $1 million for a three- to four-bedroom. Some homes with five or six bedrooms go over $1.25 million. These are 1960s and ’70s builds, some with angular, steeply pitched roofs allowing space for skylights and tall ceilings in the front. Variations touch on modern design or Spanish and Mediterranean themes, with archways or tile roofing. A private gated community with homeowners association fees, The Main Attraction, includes a community pool and spa on its secluded grounds. A three-bedroom, two-bath unit went under contract for $675,000 only a few days after going on the market.
