A cozy neighborhood near beaches, parks and hiking
Quiet streets dotted with palm trees, bright floral landscaping and cozy midcentury homes fill Santa Cruz’s King Street neighborhood - but don't let the tranquility fool you, it's an area teeming with activity. World-famous surf spots, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and plenty of mountainous hiking and biking trails are less than two miles away.
“It’s a very active community. You’re so close to hiking, biking, the mountains and the waterfront,” says Eli Karon, Managing Broker at Karon Properties, a longtime city resident. But it’s not just the outdoors that has people paying top dollar for a home in King Street. “It’s an upper-middle class neighborhood with great public schools. It’s close to UC Santa Cruz, so there are a lot of university employees and professors that live there. And it’s great for trick-or-treating,” Karon says.
