A quiet historic suburb of Savannah
Less than 2 miles from downtown Savannah sits the quiet historic suburb of Carver Heights. The Historic Carver Village makes up a large part of this neighborhood. It was established in 1948 to provide people of color with affordable housing options. Many of the original homes still stand here, which landed Carver Village on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019. But the village isn't all Carver Heights has to offer. It is also home to the state-of-the-art Enmarket Arena. The massive complex hosts sporting events and shows year-round. It was completed in February of 2022 as part of a city-wide growth initiative. "Savannah's been growing like crazy over the last five or six years," says Joel Solomon, a Realtor at Century 21 Solomon Properties. He's been selling homes in the city for 15 years. Additional homes sit just to the north. Several local businesses and neighborhood parks also dot the streets.
Historic bungalows and ranch-style home dominate Carver Heights
Most homes here are single-story bungalows and ranch-style homes, though a few foursquares dot the streets. They often sit snuggly on lots large enough for a small front garden bed. Older homes can start as low as $85,000, while new construction can sell for more than $265,000.
