State parks and historical sites in town
The northern tip of town is part of the hundreds of acres of forest that comprise Mount Holyoke Range and Skinner State Parks. Nature lovers can visit several parks in town, along with two conservation areas. It's no wonder there is so much green space around the area -- some impactful creatures used to roam the forests and fields. The first dinosaur footprints discovered in North America were spotted by the son of a South Hadley farmer in 1802. You can also visit the remains of America's first navigable canal at Canal Park. South Hadley is a hub of history, both ancient and modern.
Pickleball is the new craze taking over the county and South Hadley as well.
Buttery Brook Park is a major park of South Hadley with a playground, pickleball court and more.

Shopping and dining Village Commons Shopping Mall
The Village Commons Shopping Mall, just off Mount Holyoke's campus, has several restaurants and South Hadley's Tower Theatres. Try Johnny's Bar & Grille, a local staple that offers classic pub food in a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant's colorful exterior welcomes residents in, and the burgers, fries and salads help them stick around. Commuters have access to major roadways

The town of Holyoke is just across the Connecticut River via Routes 202 or 116. You can follow those roads to hop on I-91 and make your way to downtown Springfield.
