The shores of Lake Fayetteville
The Springdale Country Club is a focal point of the Shady Grove area, featuring a golf course, private pool and fitness center. Also close to the shores of Lake Fayetteville, this is a desirable neighborhood with a busy commercial route and a collection of large homes. The community showcases outdoor recreational opportunities, including a country club. "In Shady Grove, the biking trails are very close, and the country club is right there. It's very attractive to a lot of locals," says Mandy Nickell, an Executive Broker and Senior Vice President at Lindsey & Associates, who has over 22 years of experience in local real estate. "Locals also have the convenience of not living in Fayetteville but being able to easily access restaurants and the University." The headquarters of Tyson Foods stands just north of the neighborhood, a major employer for the region.

Large lots in Shady Grove
Shady Grove's homes include multiple styles, from Colonial influences and modern farmhouses to contemporary Tudors that add a touch of nostalgia. Houses around Springdale Country Club offer views of the fairways and greens. Most of these homes stand on half-acre lots. Heritage Hill is a gated subdivision with custom homes, and the area's newest houses are inside the Johnson Square development. Abutting the country club is the retirement community Holiday Gardens at Arkanshire. Depending on what section of the community the house is in, prices range, on average, from $275,000 to $550,000 for a ranch-style. New builds enter the market between $650,000 and $800,000, while homes over 4,000 square feet can cost between $725,000 to over $1.2 million. Although the neighborhood has a moderate chance of flooding, only a few homes are at risk. Northwest Arkansas is susceptible to tornadoes, which have recently affected nearby communities. Washington County's Hazard Mitigation Plan works with local and state governments to aid in disaster preparation and responses.
Larger homes are found in communities like Heritage Hills and Willow Bend, in Shady Grove.

Enjoy the outdoors at Lake Fayetteville Park
The central Springdale Country Club went from a 9-hole course in 1927 to an 18-hole course in 1996. The grounds feature Bermuda Fairways and Bent Brass Greens. Lake Fayetteville Park is a public space covering 468 acres, in addition to the 194-acre lake. The recreational hub includes playgrounds, volleyball courts and a softball complex. On the northern section of the park is a spot for disc golf and trails for hiking. The adjoining Veterans Memorial Park has a boating dock and marina with rentals for fishing; visitors must have permits before enjoying the water. Two trails surround the lake for hikers and mountain bikers; the park also offers bike rentals. Randal Tyson Recreation Complex stands less than three miles from the center of the community. Local youth and adult athletic leagues play games on the baseball and softball fields. There are also pickleball and basketball courts. During the summer, children play on the splash pad, and the dog park is popular throughout the year.

All the amenities of Northwest Arkansas
Walmart Neighborhood Market is a go-to for groceries and everyday essentials. The U.S. Business Route 71 runs between the country club and its golf course, which takes residents directly to the Northwest Arkansas Mall. The indoor shopping hub contains major retailers such as Dillard's, Express and Forever 21. Nickell recommends La Huerta, a popular Mexican restaurant known for its margaritas and Taco Tuesdays. Wright's Barbecue, a neighborhood dining spot, features a menu of meats smoked onsite. To savor the diverse flavors of Northwest Arkansas, many travel to the Fayetteville Food Trucks, which hold a collection of local vendors surrounding an outdoor food court.
