A rural outlying community with access to Sumter's main highways
Two of Sumter's most-used highways intersect along the rural edge of East Sumter. From here, residents can easily access the downtown shops and restaurants or commute to South Carolina’s capital city. Throughout the neighborhood, unpaved residential streets pass by ranch-style homes with spacious backyards. A longtime local and Broker at Re/Max Summit, Talmadge Tobias, describes East Sumter as “a quiet, industrial part of town.” Besides the homes and a couple of community churches, “it’s mostly farmland and manufacturers out that way.”
US Route 378 and 76 intersect in the East Sumter neighborhood.
