Established community with longtime residents and neighborhood resources
Neighborhood parks, community centers and churches bring together residents of Savage-Glover. Home to neighbors who have lived in this part of Sumter's south side for years, the community’s residential offerings are scarce. Events like Festival on the Avenue, neighborhood block parties and a local farmers market shine a light on the community and keep residents connected. "One of the best things about Sumter is that we are working together for the good of the people. The HOPE Center and the work on South Sumter Park are enhancing and uplifting these community spaces so residents can thrive," says Realtor and broker Talmadge Tobias with Re/MAX Summit. Tobias was born and raised in Sumter, was a city manager for 39 years and has been a Realtor for the last 19 years. "And this is a place where you know your neighbors, you can say hi, and if you ever need help, people will step in."
