Luxury suburb with breathtaking views of thevalley
Tarzana has a fascinating history, magnificent mountain views and a vast retail and dining scene in a prime location in the San Fernando Valley. Named after the fictional jungle character from his book, “Tarzan of the Apes,” Edgar Rice Burroughs sold over 500 acres of residential housing in one of the city's earliest established communities. After nearly a century of change, Tarzana remains one of Los Angeles’ most desirable luxury suburbs. “Tarzana is both suburbia and the city because you have Ventura Boulevard with business and restaurants, and then you have the hills with beautiful views and hiking trails,” says Claire Bloom, who has been Executive Director of the Tarzana Community & Cultural Center for over four years. “You can live in a beautiful house in the mountains, and you can go five minutes down the road to a great restaurant.”
