As Stonehouse has grown, development has moved away from the Stonehouse Golf Club near the York River, reaching as far west as the Little Creek Reservoir. The predominant style could be described as Modern Traditional, but there’s a good deal of variation within that genre. Niche gives the school high marks across a range of categories, resulting in an A-minus overall. Toano Middle enrolls 600 students and gets a B-plus in the teachers category. Warhill High has 1,300 students but manages to maintain a 14-to-1 student-teacher ratio. Niche gives it an A-minus overall. The school is known for offering specialized tracks of study in physics, the humanities, engineering and information technology.
