About Tooele, UT

Tooele: A small city tucked away in northwest Utah

Situated near the Oquirrh, Cedar and Stansbury Mountains, Tooele is a city of about 36,000 about 30 miles from Salt Lake City. In the mid-1900s, the 7-mile Tooele Valley Railroad was built here, connecting pioneers and settlers throughout the West. Today, the area is still known as a major spot for commuters. Tooele has a quiet atmosphere, 19 miles southwest of the Great Salt Lake. “It’s a smaller community with quick access to Salt Lake City,” says Amanda Brown, a Realtor with EXIT Realty Ascendancy, who was born and raised in the area. “You’re outside of the chaos, but still close to everything.”
