Commercial amenities infuse a quiet suburban neighborhood
Tulsa's Ridge Pointe neighborhood offers a sense of exclusivity within a rapidly growing area. It’s far enough from downtown to provide a sense of removal from dense urban lifestyles, but it remains close to entertainment and dining options. “I would say the neighborhood is very private,” says Robert Smith, a Realtor with Re/Max Results who lives in the area. “Not a whole lot of houses have been sold in that neighborhood. It’s not that they aren’t flying off the market, but once they go to market, they sell very quickly.” Part of the popularity is the sense that you can have it all: the biker and hiker friendly Creek Turnpike Trail cuts east-west through the middle of the neighborhood, but so does Highway 64. One can have an easygoing life here, or tap into the bustle along Memorial Drive, which sits on the west end. Major employers are within 2 miles of Ridge Pointe – Hillcrest Hospital South and Saint Francis South Hospital – while Woodland Hills Mall sits 5 miles away.

Brick homes in various styles
Many of the brick homes in this neighborhood were built in the late 90s. They commonly show up as ranch-style properties with steep roofs, a pair of garages, a covered back porch and a fenced backyard. Prices tend to be in the upper $200,000s. There are some properties that show up near the $400,000 mark, but they offer more square footage – 2,600 square feet compared to the average 1,500 square feet. Built in the 2000s, these may also express French styles that diverge from ranches. Homeowners can tell they stand out, because they feature multiple stories, curved entryways and wide rustic shutters.

Swimming pools and public theaters are are recreation options
When it comes to outdoor fun, the neighborhood has its own play set, seasonal pool and walking trail that wraps around a pond. But for those seeking a more public place to congregate in, Robert J. Riggs Jr. Park offers a playground that catches the eye with a blue and white color scheme. There’s a tire swing, picnic pavilion, volleyball court, small creek and a paved trail.
Another popular gathering spot is Hardesty Regional, one of the area’s biggest libraries: it’s a 50,000-square-foot facility with two conference rooms, an auditorium and children’s theater which hosts events for all ages. Visitors are greeted at the modernist entrance by a large stack of sculpted books.

Fast casual fun in Ridge Pointe
A regional chain like Sugar Llamas is representative of the kinds of eateries that are popular in Ridge Pointe. Funky but inviting décor inside makes it feel like a place for regulars, while the counter service invites customers to be quick and adventuresome with their selections. There are several flavors of tiny donuts to try, which can be topped with scoops of ice cream. Local franchises like Society Burger – also located on Mingo Road – have ample seating, but the experience is casual enough to qualify as an in-and-out meal. Customers can seat themselves at the bar, which resembles an old school diner, and grab a craft beer. Upscale options are available, too, which provides some entertainment for locals. “People will go to a place like Ridge Grill, which is known for its steaks and seafood,” Smith says. Memorial Drive brings more of a big-box vibe with places to grocery shop, such as Walmart and Reasor’s.
