About Vadnais Heights, MN

Suburban-living along Vadnais Lake

New heights of suburban-living are reached in Vadnais Heights, combining urban accessibility with a nature-oriented, lake-side lifestyle within 16 miles of both Minneapolis and St. Paul. “The appeal here starts with a great location within the Twin Cities metro area,” says Community Development Director Nolan Wall. “We’ve also got great schools, a great park system, and a good mix of commercial and residential land uses.” Aside from quick commutes, Vadnais Heights locals capitalize on outdoor recreation from hiking at Vadnais Snail Lakes Regional Park to fishing along the shores of Vadnais Lake. Young families and Twin City commuters are attracted by the high-rated schools, the proximity to U.S. Interstate-35E and a wide variety of housing options from multi-family condos and Twin Homes to single-family lakefront properties. And with a 20-minute commute into the Twin Cities, day trips downtown are twice as accessible for this sought-after community in south-central Minnesota.

Cyclists can pedal along the paved 12-mile trails with lakefront views. While some enjoy lunch on the wooden picnic tables after fishing along the shore of Vadnais Lake. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) prohibits the use of boats on this lake and fishing can only be done along the shore. Locals can spend the day on the water at Snail Lake Regional Park, which features a boating launch, jungle gym and sand volleyball court in neighboring Shoreview. Golf enthusiasts are in luck with the private North Oaks Golf Club nearby, offering an 18-hole, par-71 course for members to enjoy.
