Some locals drive up to Lake Berryessa, a 2,000-acre nature reserve 45 miles north. “Lake Berryessa is a big body of water where people go for fishing and summer recreation,” says Noble Griswold, Broker at Realty World and 40-year Vallejo resident. Vallejo gets hot in the summer, so jet skiing and tubing on the lake provide ways to cool off.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is directly on the other side of I-80. It offers roller coaster rides and up-close encounters with wild animals. Solano County Fairgrounds is also minutes away. The county fair brings carnival rides and games to the area every summer.
