Small town with growing popularity

Veneta is a small town outside of Eugene that’s steadily growing in popularity thanks to its impressive collection of stunning green spaces. “It’s an outlier community and the main thoroughfare from Eugene to the coast cuts right through it so it’s pretty heavily trafficked,” says Gabe Phayt, who has worked in the neighborhood for 10 years and currently works at the Fern Ridge Library. “It’s a nice little spot and a great confluence of rural living meets a bohemian hippy vibe. It draws people from all over and creates a nice little melting pot of different sorts of people all mixing together to make an interesting little community-oriented town.”

Single story living includes cottages and ranch-style homes

Homes in Veneta range from manufactured options and apartments to ranch-style homes and cottages. Single-story living is common and homes often have attached garages. Picket fences and bright gardens often surround lots that vary in size from 5,000 square feet to 7 acres. Residents enjoy walking the quiet streets and chatting with neighbors.

Residents of Veneta have convenient access to Highway 126 which heads east into Downtown Eugene, just 14.5 miles away. Route 93 buses also run through the neighborhood and can take locals downtown. “It’s growing because it's a really desirable spot and just 10 minutes from Eugene,” Phayt says. “Living outside of Eugene is nice because prices are higher in the city and it’s not a bad commute.”
