Small town living in the forests of New Hampshire
With a population of just over 6,000 people, the small, rural town of New Boston is within reach of larger New Hampshire cities. Here, residents can find spacious Colonial Revival and Cape Cod-style houses that orbit a small town center. Home to parks and several dining and shopping options, the town center allows residents the opportunity to stay close by. Still, both Milford and Manchester are less than a 30-minute drive away, making urban amenities and events another possibility. “It’s very tight knit, very small. We’re definitely seeing a lot of growth,” says Jenn Brezniak, Deputy Town Clerk of New Boston. “While it’s not the tiniest town in NH, it feels like it is. The small-town feel is the most attractive thing.”

New Boston's dining options include Northeast Café, which is well known for its brisket breakfast sandwiches and omelets. Molly’s Tavern and Restaurant is another family-owned spot located inside a renovated farmhouse. Here, residents can enjoy the casual, friendly environment and classic American fare while dining inside or on the patio. Dodge’s Ice Cream Stand is a go-to spot for a sweet treat during the summer and a place to shop for homegrown veggies and plants. Several tractors along the road act as impromptu signage for the stand. Residents looking to stock their kitchens at home can grab ingredients from Dodge's Country Store or the New Boston Farmers Market every Saturday morning from June to October.
