Brandywine’s housing mix reflects decades of development
Located on the northern edge of the Delaware state line is the unincorporated Brandywine. "The neighborhood is locally known as Brandywine Hundred. The area was settled in the 1600s but wasn't built up until the 1950s," says Monica Hill, a Realtor with RE/MAX Associates-Wilmington. "The community has larger homes as well as brick constructions. Here, the properties look like salt and pepper sets." This means one street may have ranch styles while the next maintains a similar uniform aesthetic.
Colonial revival homes can be found throughout Brandywine and surrounding neighborhoods.

Homes range from townhouses to large estates
Well-maintained homes with green lawns offer a charming curb appeal to the streetscape. Split-levels and Colonial Revivals are common among the housing stock. The area also contains town homes inside the adult community of the Village of Brandywine, as well as manufactured dwellings among Winterset Farms. On average, houses within the neighborhood leave the market between $350,000 to $650,000. Buyers can expect most homes larger than 2,000 square feet to list for over $500,000. "Over the years, the standard of living has remained constant. Brandywine properties stayed strong during the 2008 housing crisis. The community has a strong market as well as solid hospitals and schools," Hill says.
