A mix of home styles
Ranch-style homes with clapboard siding or brick exteriors sit along winding roads hemmed with palm trees and pines. Larger New Traditional homes with Neoclassical stylings, such as columns and pillars, built in the early 2000s, split-level options and newer Craftsman-inspired designs are also available. Along the neighborhood’s edge, larger homes sit squarely on spacious estates secluded behind security gates and long driveways. Most homes feature private docks that lead directly to either Turner Creek or Bull River, and many homes concentrated along the community's inner section offer private docks that lead to one of the many lakes dotting the island. Lot sizes are roomy, with landscaped front yards and water views in backyards. Sidewalks are scarce on the residential streets, but the wide roadways give residents space to take walks or ride bikes. Prices range from $375,000 for 1,600 square feet to $1.9 million for 4,200 square feet.

Boating along Bull River
Most residents get outdoor recreation boating on Bull River, but those looking for green space find it outside the Talahi Community Center off Quarterman Drive. Among the green grass and tall oak trees is a basketball court where locals shoot hoops and two swing sets for the kids. Pet parents often let their fur babies run on the open field, and picnic tables are scattered throughout, perfect for lunch outside. The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System encompasses the Talahi Island schools. Kids usually start their education at Marshpoint Elementary School, then head to Coastal Middle School and Islands High School. All three have a B rating on Niche. Islands High serves about 930 students and has a student-teacher ratio of 16-to-1. It offers students several clubs and organizations, including Future Farmers of America, Student Senate and Future Business Leaders of America.

Route 80 to Tybee Island
Route 80 bisects the neighborhood and gets residents where they need to go, whether west to downtown Savannah or east towards Tybee Island's beaches.Fresh seafood at Flying Fish Bar & Grill
Locals looking for fresh seafood head to Flying Fish Bar & Grill for boiled shrimp and crab legs. The neighborhood favorite features live music on the patio on Friday and Saturday nights. Shopping is limited in the community, but residents can pick up fresh produce at Davis Produce off US-80 or at the Islands Farmers’ Market off Quarterman Drive. The farmers' market occurs every Saturday and, along with fresh fruits and vegetables, residents pick up fresh meat and local honey, shop at the non-food vendors, and hit up the food trucks.
