Wynnedale-Spring Hill, 15 minutes from downtown Indianapolis, is surrounded by distinctive amenities. "Wynnedale-Spring Hill is off the beaten path but right in the middle of everything Indianapolis has to offer," says Susan Forrest, Realtor at United Real Estate Indianapolis. The area bordered by the White River and a 35-acre lake. Newfields also boasts eight garden areas and a restored 1930s French-inspired home. “Lilly House, like The Garden, is a staple of the Oldfields property,” says Jack Wright, the public relations manager at Newfields. “Picnics and frisbees are encouraged on the lawn, and visitors are welcome to step inside and tour the lower level to learn more about the estate, restored to its 1930s appearance.” Homes in the area sit on expansive, well-manicured lots next to wide roadways. There are no sidewalks in the residential areas, but there is plenty of natural shading from trees and shrubbery.

Penrod Arts Fair and Winterlights

Residents can take their best shot at Free Basket, created by the art collective Los Carpinteros, is an interactive sculpture of red and blue steel arches that mimic the bounce of a basketball. Another interactive installation is Atelier Van Lieshout’s Funky Bones exhibit. Visitors may sit on the 20 fiberglass bones or picnic in the green space around it. Within the neighborhood is Fitness Farm, a 24-acre non-profit park with a walking path, basketball court, track, disc golf course and rental spaces. Fitness Farm also sells garden-grown vegetables and farm-fresh eggs at their farmstand. The farm houses 30 chickens and three pigs.
