Arts and culture 15 minutes from Indianapolis

Wynnedale-Spring Hill, 15 minutes from downtown Indianapolis, is surrounded by distinctive amenities. "Wynnedale-Spring Hill is off the beaten path but right in the middle of everything Indianapolis has to offer," says Susan Forrest, Realtor at United Real Estate Indianapolis. The area bordered by the White River and a 35-acre lake. Residents can enjoy a scenic view of the lake on the green topographical map of Stratum Pier, an interactive sculpture by Kendall Buster, a part of Newfields’ Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. Newfields also boasts eight garden areas and a restored 1930s French-inspired home. “Lilly House, like The Garden, is a staple of the Oldfields property,” says Jack Wright, the public relations manager at Newfields. “Picnics and frisbees are encouraged on the lawn, and visitors are welcome to step inside and tour the lower level to learn more about the estate, restored to its 1930s appearance.” Homes in the area sit on expansive, well-manicured lots next to wide roadways. There are no sidewalks in the residential areas, but there is plenty of natural shading from trees and shrubbery.
