Northwest Yonkers is a commuter haven an hour from Manhattan
Northwest Yonkers, in Westchester County, is 21 miles from New York City, and offers a variety of housing options, from brightly painted single-family Victorians to brick-sided co-ops near two train stations. “There’s a lot of people who are coming up from the city and moving into Westchester,” says Dennis Aboagye, a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty who has been selling homes in the area for three years. Many commuters settle here, wanting access to the city without living in Manhattan.

Victorian, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival and custom homes range from $700,000 to over $1 million, while split-level, minimal traditional and Cape Cod styles range from $400,000 to $675,000. Multifamily homes range from $700,000 to over $1 million. Co-ops are organized in large brick buildings, costing $375,000 to $650,000. Condos and townhouses range from $400,000 to $675,000.
