Youngsville has consistently ranked among the fastest-growing places in Louisiana since the 1990s. Growing from humble beginnings as a rural farming town, this expanding community has drawn major appeal for homebuyers thanks to a simple commute to Lafayette, a family-friendly atmosphere and local amenities like Sugar Mill Pond. “You’ve got a whole range of people moving in, from first-time homebuyers to couples downsizing,” says Julie Knight, an independent Realtor and broker with six years of experience. In addition to selling homes in town and across the Acadiana region, Knight previously lived in Youngsville. According to her, Youngsville has a small-town vibe with the atmosphere of a larger city.
Acadiana architecture at a wide range of price points
“There’s a wide range of homes here,” Knight says. Many of Youngsville’s homes are built in an updated version of the classic Acadian style, with pitched roofs and upper floors with separated areas. Fans of farmhouse exteriors can also find some barn-influenced homes in the area, along with a small selection of townhomes. With the area’s recent boom in development, most homes in Youngsville are less than a decade old on average. Values range from $130,000 for a modest ranch up to $1 million for a luxurious estate, with the typical single-family home selling for about $300,000.
