There's a volume to the Living room that is so comfortable and so spacious, at the same time. This room is anchored by heavy beams across the ceiling and lit beautifully from above.

Just past the Dining room is the kitchen, spread flawlessly across the west side of the home. With large island and multiple work stations, the Cherry Wood cabinetry has been finished naturally and here it pairs perfectly with the granite counter-tops and chiseled edges of the island. This space is all about gathering. Whether it's family meals or holiday parties, the kitchen and adjoining family room with its rough-hewn beamed ceilings, fireplace and brick hearth will draw everyone into the warmth and hospitality that this space affords

The sitting area features an ample closet for him (along with a small refrigerator), while the walk-in closet just off of the master's two-room bath, is large and fitted to accommodate everything from dresses to hand bags.

With a lot size measuring in at just over a quarter acre (.28), this property is designed to be enjoyed and celebrated.

Beginning at the front curbside, three large clusters of Desert Spoon frame the entry with a flagstone landing and fountain in the center. There are other drought resistant plantings here, too - while two curved concrete park benches allow visitors to rest and admire the scent of the oranges blooming in the spring, or the unforgettable sunsets of winter. To the west are two driveways and the 3 car garages.

Past the front yard is a large courtyard surrounded by a knee-wall of stucco and brick. This area would be perfect for another seating area and could easily accommodate a fireplace or Latillo-styled canopy. But, either way this space features a large sweet orange tree and the turquoise-blue painted iron gates that welcome guests to the front entrance.

The west facing side yard holds recycling and trash containers and (nearer to the kitchen door) a small landing for bar table and stools. Continuing along the path, you'll enter the backyard, with a large covered patio and a gorgeous pool. Sub-patios of flagstone and crushed granite have been added over the years and xeriscape plantings burst with colorful blooms, butterflies and Hummingbirds each spring.

The back of the property isn't walled in concrete block, as one might expect. Since this property backs to a large irrigated pasture and ranch, the homeowners have opted to leave the cyclone fence intact so they could visit with the neighboring horses. Dusty, Midnight and Archer will happily accept a carrot from visitors (check the fridge for extras) and they will greet you each morning for any treats you might like to share.

During the day, this home is bright and cheerful. A space that I didn't want to leave. I found myself just wandering and admiring the feel of each room - envisioning where my friends would sit and where my dogs would play. But, when the sun went down and the lights came on, the entire home radiated with a comfortable warmth that is hard to describe. It's this subtle feeling of "home" that comes - not from remodeling a space from top to bottom with all of the latest gadgets and finishes - but from actually spending time living in it and appreciating it.
