This might be the very last old-school fixer-upper in all of Oakhurst -- that nook of the Atlanta Metro located within the City of Decatur: the part of town with the top-notch school district, the fantastic restaurant and social scene, and Oakhurst. Quiet streets, friendly neighbors, walkable, ever-evolving, but timeless, all at once. The kind of place where you can settle down for the long haul, content in the fact that you've claimed that most coveted of real estate tropes: location. That being said. Don't let the price tag fool you. This place is a fixer-upper. Not to the point where it needs to be bulldozed and carted away - the bones of this mid-century ranch are strong, and the floor plan is as modular as it comes, lending all sorts of possibilities to the nimbly minded. But, 307 Ansley Street is in serious need of some love. So, what do you want to do? Do you want to bust open the walls between the living room, family room, dining area, kitchen, and all-those-closets, and create one big open space? There's plenty of natural light to pull it off. There are three bedrooms and two full baths, too. Functional, yes, but extremely (and unironically) the '80s. Here's the thing. Every home in Oakhurst started like this: lived-in, loved-in, and eventually, a remnant of an aesthetic that doesn't work anymore. The asking price is $450,000 - not bad in the first place, considering that an Oakhurst address seldom goes for less than half-a-million.
