Kids in Fox Point can attend Providence Public Schools. Vartan Gregorian Elementary sits within Fox Point. It has about 250 students and a B rating from Niche. Nearby Nathan Bishop Middle School has a C rating from Niche, and the public magnet Classical High School is rated A-plus. Classical is known for its media and arts programs. Interstate 195 cuts through the south side of Fox Point, connecting the neighborhood with the south coast of Massachusetts. Downtown Providence is a 10-minute drive, Newport takes 45 minutes and Boston takes an hour. Commuters can take advantage of a train from Providence to Boston. Rhode Island T.F. Because of its waterfront location, Fox Point has a collection of boat houses. The Community Boathouse, a nonprofit created by local sailors to make boating more accessible, provides the community with kayak and paddle boat rentals. The seasonal Seastreak Providence-Newport Ferry provides a water route between the two Rhode Island cities.
