I provide real estate expertise -- I sell it locally in New York City and I write about it nationally.
In addition, I have a twenty-year background in publishing, including four years at Fortune magazine. I'm occasionally available for fast-turnaround corporate work on a project basis. I provide exceptional writing and editing for innovative companies.
Past clients have included the Corcoran Group, KPMG, Dell, and Visa. Currently doing work I love for Nova Credit, a groundbreaking fintech company that supports immigrants and is creating a world beyond borders.
The real estate half: As a broker, I am a principal of Upstairs Realty in TriBeCa. From there, I sell and rent Downtown Manhattan, Brownstone Brooklyn, and the Upper West Side. Upstairs is a firm that offers superior service and smarter smarts. In other words, a boutique.
The writing half: I've been a real estate "guru" for fourteen years now, covering this topic as a journalist, and -- heaven help me for the phrase -- providing thought leadership. Buying a home is a major financial commitment for most people, and the entire process needs to be less filled with morons. I do what I can to provide perspective; I founded and ran the real estate section for the New York Post. I've written for Money, Time.com, and The New York Times. I also do associated speaking/moderating/webinars at places like Inman Connect New York. Check out my current pieces "Big Ben to Big Apple: A Guide for Brits Moving from London to New York City" -- https://www.novacredit.com/resources/big-ben-to-big-apple-a-guide-for-brits-moving-from-london-to-new-york-city and "Moving to San Francisco: Here's What You Need to Know" https://www.novacredit.com/resources/moving-to-san-francisco-heres-what-you-need-to-know
My first book, "Diary of a Real Estate Rookie," was released in June 2007. Rave reviews came in from Newsweek, forbes.com, and Publisher's Weekly (starred).
