Aly was everything I wanted during the selling process: a steady guide with a deep reservoir of knowledge about market trends, financing process, neighborhood history, and the psychology of negotiating, for starters. She had her eye on the long-term goal, but was always present in the moment and had time for my concerns and suggestions. Also, she was unfailingly calm and easy-going with me, but also hugely prepared and formidable on my behalf. This was the first time that I felt like I got my money's worth -- and then some! -- from having a realtor in my corner. She's my top recommendation out of a large handful of realtors that I know and have worked with.

Aly is truly a gem and a gift to Charlottesville Real Estate! I've worked with Aly on multiple searches both personally and for home hunting for my mother. She is very knowledgable on the Cville real estate market, but touring homes with her is where her sweetness really comes to life. With years of contracting experience, she's able to spot things that normal real estate agents could not. She's able to tell us on the spot ballparks of how much something would cost to fix, replace, renovate... Which has been super helpful in narrowing our search. She also will point out things that we never would have thought of that would have been problematic down the road (like street noise, electrical lines close by, etc). She's not just trying to make a sale - she really wants to find THE PERFECT house for you. (Not to mention she is an absolute blast to be around, funny, light hearted, and down for making the trek to see just about anything.) So happy we found Aly and hope that our paths cross again in future searches :)

This is my second time working with Aly. She helped me purchase this property in 2020 and then with selling it last month. She was great at explaining the selling process with me and keeping me updated when the property had showings. She gave me great advice on pricing and on negotiating the offer. Additionally, she was professional and patient with me as I wavered back and forth on if I wanted to sell or not. In the end I decided to sell and I’m very happy with the end result. I plan to work with Aly again when I’m ready to purchase my next investment property.

We contacted Aly to help us purchase a home in Charlottesville so we could move closer to family. We couldn't have picked a better agent or ally. We highly recommend Aly if you are lucky enough to consider her!

Aly was incredibly professional and thoughtful: She made sure we understood the template legalese in all the contracts before we even signed with her to make sure we understood the language *before* being under contract for a house. We appreciated this since it was the first time we were buying a house and this would have been really overwhelming.

Aly then got a sense of what we wanted from a house with a set of questions. We continued to refine that list as we looked through houses and found more of what we did and did not want. Aly was not only patient with the process, but also wasn't afraid to discourage us from houses she thought were not a right fit.

Aly's extensive knowledge of house construction gave her an edge in the competition as well. She could let us know what was possible in terms of additions, renovations and improvements as well as flag high-cost repairs that we'd need to do in the first five years of ownership.

In terms of contract negotiation, Aly has a canny sense of what makes a good offer a great one. We felt as though she had our best interests at heart and made an incredible deal for us in a challenging market.

Even after we closed on the house, Aly continued to be a great friend in the process. Her network of contacts allowed us to find folks to help with repairs and improvements before we moved in. It gave us great peace of mind when we couldn't be there.

Overall, Aly's professionalism, focus on your personal preferences and extensive housing / market knowledge will give you an excellent experience.

Aly has worked diligently to help us find a home that fits our needs for aging in place that also gives us space for our growing family. Since we were indecisive at times, Aly researched the MLS to find homes that might work for us. Not only were we impressed with her diligence and patience, we were impressed with her level of knowledge regarding potential expenses to update, repair, or reconstruct areas in the homes to fit our needs. In one home, she identified a tree full of bees, noted the bushes planted all around the home attracts flies and questioned settling inside the home that might be indicative of a much larger and expensive problem. She has been committed to ensuring that we are able to purchase a home that not only meets our needs, but also doesn't become a money pit. Diligence, commitment, patience and expertise. We worked with Aly during a very hectic and competitive real estate market to purchase a townhome. Aly was at the top of her game, sending every available listing that fit our criteria as well as thinking outside the box to find property. Aly made purchasing a home remotely so simple. She is knowlegable and well connected, and took us on multiple virtual video tours. When we found the house we liked, she took care of everything moving us forward. She was there every step of the way, helping make it our new home. Using Zoom and other online tools, we selected, customized and purchased our home without once visiting Charlottesville.

Aly is truly the BEST. My husband and I were new to the Charlottesville area when we began our house search. Aly knows the area inside and out and she had our absolute best interest when we were making this huge decision for our family. My husband and I had very different "needs" when picking out our house and Aly valued both of our lists. She helped us see a middle ground where neither of us had to compromise. I had been trying for several years to sell the house my deceased wife and I had occupied since the late eighties. My wife had been ill with cancer for many years before she died and she had been the main caretaker of our house and grounds. It went to rack and ruin while I was trying to take care of her and it looked more like an extended storage space than a home. The house didn't sell.

I began working with Aly Snidor, at Donna Goings Realty, and everything turned around. She set a path for me to follow to get the house in the best shape to present it in the best light, all the while being extremely sensitive to the difficulty of winnowing through half a lifetime of living there. I could not have done this without Aly's constant support, encouragement, and, most importantly, knowledge and know-how! It was a learning curve; we did it together, and the house now belongs to a young couple who are remaking it in their own way just as my wife and I did when we were their age. Pretty sweet!

Aly constantly councilled an approach to getting the house ready for market that was consistent with my needs and values. I am in her debt. She was always there with solutions and excellent advice. She turned out to be indispensable to my goal of selling that house.

We knew that wasn’t the house for us but we both walking away thinking “that’s our realtor!” We got to know Aly and felt comfortable with her right away as she walked us through the whole process.
