In working to uphold the integrity of the real estate profession, Carol has served three terms as a director of the Austin Board of REALTORS® and the ABOR Foundation board, has twice chaired the Austin Multiple Listing Service (ACTRIS). She has earned multiple professional national real estate designations and has lobbied at both the state and national level.

Carol shares her leadership skills throughout the community and is currently on the board of the Northwest Austin Civic Association. Committed to the ideal of everyone in life deserving a safe home, Carol's company has provided funds for home construction in Community First! Village, a community of tiny homes for formerly homeless individuals. Austin's Habitat for Humanity and Foundation Communities are housing non-profits that the Dochen Realty Group supports every month.

She co-founded an award-winning child development center at Congregation Beth Israel which has educated thousands of pre-schoolers for more than 35 years. The Jewish community of Austin has recognized Carol repeatedly over the years, including in 2020 when she was honored with a Woman of Valor award for a lifetime of commitment to community service.
