Chris grew up in The Dalles and then moved to Eastern Oregon and eventually attended Eastern Oregon University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. While in Eastern Oregon, Chris worked for 7 years with developmentally disabled adults as direct care staff. She was eventually promoted to Residential Manager and then promoted to Vocational Program Manager. Because of her leadership skills, she was successful at managing her staff and created a positive culture in the workplace. Her innovation with the clients she cared for earned her recognition from her management team, as well as opening opportunities for her clients. Her knack for overcoming barriers with creativity and positivity attributed to her and their success.
She met and married her husband, who became a Marine. They had two sons and lived in North Carolina and then moved to San Diego, where her husband served as a Drill Instructor and then as a Police Officer. During this time, she was a stay-at-home mom and home schooled her children. After the passing of her husband in 2014, she moved up to the Willamette Valley to be closer to family.
It was during this time that she invested the proceeds of her husband’s life insurance into real estate in order to maintain stability and provide for herself and her sons. She coordinated a homeschooling co-op out of her home to provide socialization for her and her kids in their new home. Because of her strategy, her sons were able to continue homeschooling through graduation. She met her current husband in 2018 at a barbecue where they learned that they both shared a love of motorcycles. They were married in 2023. As her children became more self-sufficient, she branched out into volunteerism, starting at Chintimini Wildlife Center and then at Jackson Street Youth Services. She serves as a mentor and participates in street outreach for youth. Her hobbies include jiu jitsu, which she started in 2021. She is currently a part of a women’s empowerment training group. She has a vision of creating an organization at her farm that uses goats as therapeutic support animals.
