Chris Secrest

I was born and raised in Central Texas and from early on I developed an interest and a hands on education in real estate. As a child growing up I watched my parents acquire and manage investment property as well as enjoy operating both recreational and production land. My family business background comes from over 65 years in cattle ranching, community banking, independent insurance and brokering real estate. After graduating from Tarleton State University and marrying my college sweetheart, we moved to San Marcos and decided to make the Hill Country our home for good. Having been married almost 30 years, we are blessed with two daughters Abigail & Claire who work in the health care industry and study CIS at Texas State University in San Marcos. We love the Lord Jesus and are grateful members of The First United Methodist Church-San Marcos, Texas.

I have lived in the heart of the downtown San Marcos Historic District for almost 25 years. I have a love for preservation and restoration and I am a true expert in this area with a distinct focus on these beautiful older homes and on investment property. Throughout my life I have developed a sincere passion for all things "real estate" and have worked endlessly researching a wide range of real estate transactions. As a result of that research, I have developed and refined a very unique set of skills to include a complete understanding of how to evaluate real estate and ultimately how to negotiate in order to get to the closing table. This includes everything from broker value analysis and forecasting to improving property, to marketing, analyzing CAP Rate, cash flow and all things in between. I actively work on residential, commercial, multi-family, land and investment real estate.

Practicing as both a broker/owner and real estate investor sets me apart from the competition. I don't just consult, I "walk-the-walk" with you and am 100% vested and dedicated to you and this beautiful area full of opportunity. Those that know me well, will know that I am always asking questions and furthering my education, quite literally on a day to day basis.
