About David
A Pinellas County native, David L. Banther was raised in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He graduated from Lakeside Christian School in Clearwater before earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Mathematics from Hillsdale College in Michigan. Following graduation, he returned home to Tarpon Springs and completed a Master of Science in Management at Colorado Technical University.
His early career focused on serving as a fractional CFO for small businesses and private wealth clients, during which he earned the PDMM (Professional Daily Money Manager) certification from the American Association of Daily Money Managers. In 2018, he co-founded Tarapani Banther & Associates LLC, where he continues to serve as Co-Broker & Managing Partner. In 2022, he and his business partner acquired Innovative Community Management Solutions (ICMS), a long-standing community association management firm, which they later sold to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group in 2025.
Service to the community has been a consistent thread throughout his life. An Eagle Scout (Troop 48, Tarpon Springs), he was elected to the Tarpon Springs City Commission in 2013, serving as Commissioner and Vice-Mayor until 2019. In 2024, he was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Commission, later re-elected unopposed, and continues to serve in that role today.
Over the years, he has also contributed to numerous boards and organizations, including the Tarpon Springs Boys & Girls Club, Rotary Club of Tarpon Springs, Tarpon Springs Yacht Club, Pinellas County Homeless Advisory Board, Pinellas County Suncoast Transit Authority, Tarpon Springs Employee Pension Board, Tarpon Springs Charter Review Committee, Tarpon Springs Budget Advisory Committee, Advent Health North Pinellas Foundation Board, and Leadership Pinellas (Class of 2015).
He lives in Tarpon Springs with his wife and two daughters, and they are active parishioners at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin. Outside of work and public service, he enjoys pursuing an active lifestyle as a former competitive powerlifter (USPA) with six gold medals, one silver, and four state records. He also holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and remains active in the sport. When not training, he can often be found hunting, working on conservation projects, and managing his farm in North Florida.
David is currently building upon his personal real estate portfolio (residential & commercial) and municipal zoning, variance, and land use experience to offer his clients guidance based off proven success and personalized customer service. David specializes in residential, small commercial, property management, & consulting for variances and municipal zoning.
His main hobby is strength training, as David is a USPA competitive powerlifter. He is also a proud father of two young girls, along with his wife Ruth, they are active parish members at St. Ignatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church in Tarpon Springs.
