About Derek
Derek Hirano is the leader of the Hirano Homes Group at Keller Williams South Bay, where he advises clients on selling, purchasing, and investing in residential real estate. With over $195M in sales, 230 families served, and 200+ 5-star reviews, Derek is consistently recognized as a top producer known for his professionalism, expertise, and dedication to client success.
In 2022, he was named among the top 1.5% of licensed Realtors® nationwide by RealTrends + Tom Ferry America's Best Real Estate Professionals. Driven by a desire to help others achieve their goals, Derek prioritizes education and transparency so clients feel confident and empowered in every step of the real estate process.
At the core of the Hirano Homes Group is a simple belief: real estate isn’t just about property - it’s about people. The team’s mission is to create clarity and opportunity through homeownership, helping clients build wealth, stability, and legacy for their families. This purpose guides everything they do, from first consultations to final closings.
He holds both the Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation, equipping him to serve clients over the age of 50 with specialized care, and is a Certified Probate and Trust Specialist, assisting families through complex life transitions.
Derek is a third-generation entrepreneur who strongly believes in the importance of AAPI entrepreneurship. His passion for business ownership was inspired by his grandfather, a founding member of AHTKY Insurance, and his father, both of whom instilled in him the value of hard work, integrity, and community.
He earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine and is a proud member of the LA Coastal Chapter of AREAA (Asian Real Estate Association of America). In his free time, Derek enjoys being a husband and father, traveling, playing golf, and both board and video games.
