I was referred to Destry by my parents who thought Destry would be the best realtor to work with me… and they could not have been more right on. Destry Johnson is extremely client – focused. His honesty and integrity, attention to detail and strong sense of urgency coupled with his vast knowledge of the local market and infinite industry experience definitely set him apart. So I found a house I had to have - the “dream” house. The problem was that not only was my current house not sold it wasn’t even on the market. Destry helped me to determine and submit a competitive contingent offer. Although there were some bumps along the way due to the seller of the “dream” house, with the perseverance and support of Destry I ended getting the house I ultimately wanted. We listed our house on a rainy Friday; probably the rainiest weekend of the year. We had showings all weekend, 1 offer by Sunday, a second offer by the middle of the week and we were in Escrow less than a week after listing. Destry and his team handled everything perfectly and professionally, eliminating stressful details from our plate. My wife started the process of finding a house where we could retire, a year or so ago. Destry was recommended by a company specialized in recommending top notch realtors based on the area of interest. We had our eyes on Temecula and Murrieta because our daughter, already having some job in the area, believed she had highest chances of employment in Southern California, not to mention that she loves San Diego. After getting Destry's name, we went on and read the remarkable reviews he had on Zillow. We appreciate this website very much, so, getting the same input and nice feeling, we contacted Destry. The happy ending of our buying a house in Temecula started with hundreds of emails and during this process we have received advice from Destry like why it seemed some of them were not quite the best choice and how to better understand the local market. We live in Northern California and, while not being new to the idea of buying a house, we knew nothing about the Temecula/Murrieta market. During this time we were impressed by his promptness, sometimes answers in emails worked much like instant messages. At some point, after huge effort already, some personal reasons forced us to put the plans on hold in regards to that particular area. We informed Destry and he totally understood our situation and still provided us with the latest listings and even some notations of his. After all, things can change back. And they did. Visiting the houses of interest in Temecula/Murrieta was very pleasant. First of all we met the man in person. Before seeing the first house we agreed on the main criteria to have in mind and to compare. Then we toured the houses not forgetting about a lunch at the most recommended restaurant in Temecula. We appreciated how the tour was planned. The location and the proximity between the houses were not the only factors in deciding the order. First of all Destry understood what we wanted as buyers and what our priorities were. So, he figured out what we would compromise on and what not. So, some houses were out while others (surprise!) were in. The order was decided so that a crescendo was created so we could better tune in, incrementally adapt, and absorb the details and the differences between any two houses. When we liked a house very much and considered it an incredible deal, Destry took us around so we better understand the neighborhood. Then we did understand the drawbacks. While our favorite house changed during touring, we had the opportunity to revisit a house to make up our minds. During the tours we learned how important it was to have a very professional realtor next to us and get advice on so many aspects. We made offers as Destry suggested in every single case. He figured out the right amount based on how we liked it, the estimates, some specific details or disclosures, and its history on the market. The offer for one particular property (that we liked very much) was quite different from what we intended at some point. We are glad we listened to him. It is never my intention to give people a hard time, but I do ask a lot of questions. Destry answered each and every single one. He is not only a professional that can help one buy or sell a house, he is an experienced homeowner and his practices are for me just best practices and I intend to apply them. He has a network of service agencies that belong to a list he highly recommends. That list is very competitive and being there is a guarantee of high quality service. 02/20/2013 - user3802989 Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $275K in Wildomar, CA. Destry has sold my home 10 years ago, and then again recently. Yes I trust Destry for all my real estate needs and you should too. He is a true professional and very knowledgeable of the real estate industy. Not only the best in what he does..he is also kind and caring. He will keep you informed and guide you in the process. Always offering re-assurance and answer questions no matter how trivial they may seem. Issues have come up during escrow and Destry was readily available to come up with solutions. I must say this escrow was much more complicated than before and at one point I was ready to cancel the deal however Destry was able to navigate through a potential disastrous outcome.
