Edwin Maldonado

Edwin J. Maldonado, Broker-Associate, ABR, GREEN, GRI, has all the tools necessary to make your buying or selling experience a pleasurable one. Edwin combines his vast knowledge of the local real estate industry with his calm and level-headed manner, personalizing the process to take you to your deal’s satisfactory conclusion. Edwin became licensed to sell real estate in April of 1999, his last season as a golf professional. He began selling real estate full time in December of 1999 and has been on Ulster Counties Top Producer list for many years. His full-time commitment to real estate make him readily available, as well as, continually abreast of the vast changes in law, marketing, and business practices occurring in the profession today. In his quest to be better prepared to serve his clients, Edwin became a Broker and then gained the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation. The GRI designation represents 90 hours of continuing education, is nationally recognized, and is attained by less than 20% of all real estate professionals. Edwin has also obtained his Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation and was a member of the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council, Inc. (REBAC).

Edwin also acknowledges the need and advantage of being fully informed in Green practices and Green Building, therefore, Edwin has also completed the necessary courses and was awarded the GREEN designation by the National Association of REALTORS®. In 2001, Edwin was asked by the Ulster County Board of Realtors® to be Chairman of a committee that organizes a golf tournament that raises funds for local charities. The golf tournament he chaired for several years raised thousands of dollars for the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International®, an organization he has been proud to be associated with. He also served several years on the Public Relations Committee for the board. The Ulster County Board of Realtors® honored Edwin by selecting him to be their 2006 Realtor Associate of the Year. Edwin was selected from approximately 1000 agents in Ulster County for his full-time commitment to his Clients and Customers landing him on the Top Producers List once again, as well as his dedication to the Ulster County Board of Realtors® and his contributions to the community through his generous committee participation.

Edwin J. Maldonado was elected the 2007 President-Elect for the Ulster County Board of Realtors®. As President-Elect he traveled to many parts of the country to participate in Board related leadership meetings and informational seminars to best equip the local board with the latest knowledge and changes occurring in the Realtor® community. Edwin believes in the highest of ethics and standards and was determined to keep that in the forefront while serving as the 2008 President of the Ulster County Board of Realtors®.

In 2010 Edwin was asked by incoming New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) President-Elect Susan Goldy to be 2012 Chair for NYSAR’s Organizational Planning Committee and accepted. He served as Organizational Planning’s 2011 Vice-Chair & 2012 Chair as well as being a member of NYSAR’s 2012 Executive Committee, NYSAR’s Board of Directors (2007-2009, 2012) and continuing to remain on NYSAR’s Professional Standards Committee. Aside from his volunteer commitments in the real estate community, Edwin gives of his time to voluntarily serve as an appointed member of the Town of Olive Planning Board, he is currently Vice-Chair. Edwin grew up in the Hudson Valley in the small Hamlet of Athens and currently resides in the Hamlet of Krumville in the township of Olive with his wife, Peggy (also a Real Estate Broker), and their daughter. He has attended SUNY-New Paltz, College of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC, and SUNY-Albany.
