Everett grew up in Charleston, graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in advertising and public relations. He has a Master of Arts degree from the Citadel and spent the first 8 years of his career as a teacher in the Berkeley County public schools. He has lived on Sullivan’s Island for 47 years is married and has two daughters.
