I can’t imagine what buying our home would’ve been like without Gwen! My partner and I were first time home buyers, and she was courteous, professional, and patient with all of our questions and constraints. She worked within all our expectations while making sure she mentored us through every step of the way. Gwen has been an amazing realtor, mentor, and resource during the whole process. She is truly an advocate working to make sure you’re happy with the home. She is communicative and accommodating; I never worried about anything during the process. She also kept me encouraged during the process as home buying can be frustrating at times, especially for first time home buyers like myself. Gwen was outstanding in representing us buying a home in the Ambler area. We were relocating so there were times when we were remote and Gwen would tour open houses and provide either videos, pictures or livestream if possible. She provided good, sound advice regarding pricing and realistic amounts houses would sell for and the cost of renovations. She partnered with us each step of the way and I couldn’t imagine going through the buying process in such a crazy market with anyone else guiding us. We recently purchased a home in Montgomery county after three weeks of house-hunting and highly recommend Gwen! As first-time homebuyers, our only experience with buying a home was at most watching Phil Dunphy work his realtor magic in Modern Family. After having gone through the house-hunting experience, I can safely say we’re not experts but at least knowledgeable enough to confidently evaluate houses, their conditions, and potential hidden costs (upgrades/fixes/replacements) to our level of comfort.

We were first put in touch with Gwen through our lender and had a quick phone call to establish our criteria (location, # of bedrooms, # of bathrooms, etc.). Within a few hours of our initial conversation, Gwen provided us with a long list of potential homes. Gwen explained that the current housing market is an expedited process as many homes would go into contract after two to three days on the market and as a result, requires a constant effort in searching for and touring prospective houses.

With that, we spent time every day browsing Homesnap for houses in our location and would send a request to Gwen through Homesnap if we were interested in a tour. Gwen's response times were unparalleled, sometimes receiving replies in under two minutes! We felt bad at times having sent requests at 8-9pm, but it exemplifies Gwen's reliability and dedication to helping us find the right home.

When we were preparing our first offer, Gwen clearly and concisely walked through the offer process and potential contingencies to ensure we were buying a house that aligned with our financial goals. She patiently answered all of our questions and gave us plenty of time to discuss options in putting together a strong offer. We never felt rushed and always felt in control of the offer process. Because of the competitiveness of the townhouse, we ended up putting in an offer with an escalation clause (many competing offers at the time) and appraisal contingency (we did not want to severely overpay the appraised value of the property in the event that we end up having to sell in the future). The seller's agent indicated that we had a strong offer while being financially practical. After anxiously waiting three days for a decision, we were unfortunately significantly outbid by a cash only offer.

We debriefed the first offer with Gwen to understand what we could have done better. We had a well-thought-out offer, and in a volatile housing market for high demand property, instances like this occur. The worst-case scenario would have been overcompensating on the next offer. We took this as a learning experience in crafting offers as we continued our house-hunt.

For the next two weeks, it was a steady diet of looking on Homesnap (~150) and touring houses (~10). Ultimately, our third offer was accepted! We were able to request for an inspection (typically waived in this market) and came in under the asking price! Gwen provided us a comprehensive and easy to follow checklist of activities to perform prior to the settlement date.

It took a while for the thought to finally settle in, but we are now homeowners! While we were elated in our offer being accepted, we were sad that our house-hunting journey with Gwen would be coming to an end. With that being said, we are confident knowing that we can always lean on Gwen’s expertise and contacts for potential future home improvement projects! We hope you all reach out to Gwen and have the same positive experience that we had in buying our first home!

Gwen was perfection during a very stressful and often complicated corporate relocation process. She sold my home during a complicated and fierce housing market, and she essentially had to hold my hand the whole way. My experience with Gwen in my pursuit of a home to rent was nothing short of outstanding. Gwen helped me navigate an agreement with the home owner who lived in Germany. Many phone calls later a deal was stuck. Even when Gwen was in Dallas Texas visiting her grand children Gwen took my phone calls and thoroughly answered my many questions. To say that Gwen went above and beyond her job description is an understatement. I can not thank Gwen enough for her due diligence. I believe that Gwen and I have become friends which even made this experience that much better. There are many that have the designation of Realtor but not all place the needs of the customer first and do their due diligence for those they serve. Gwen Raifsnider is not that Realtor she is professional, responsive and accountable to the those she serves. I have worked with Gwen on numerous transactions and she deserves a 5 star rating.
