About Heather
To the person who took the time to visit my profile and learn a little more about me,
Buying or selling a home is a big decision, and I believe my clients deserve an agent who will be straightforward with them, communicate clearly, and put their best interests first.
Wow. Doesn't that sound like every other real estate agent out there?
Well, I am a little different.
Before real estate, I served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, including time as a Drill Instructor, and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. That experience shaped the way I work today. I pay attention to the details, I believe in doing what I say I am going to do, and I am not afraid to have an honest conversation when my clients need one.
As a REALTOR® with the SWA Team at Carolina One Real Estate, I help buyers and sellers throughout South Carolina, with a strong focus on the Lowcountry and Grand Strand. I especially enjoy working with military families and veterans, first-time homebuyers, families relocating to South Carolina, retirees, and homeowners preparing to sell.
I'm also not afraid to travel for a client or do the behind-the-scenes research that comes with this job. Actually, I enjoy it. I like digging deeper, asking questions, researching properties, and finding information that may help my clients make a better decision.
My job is not to pressure someone into buying a house or tell a seller what they want to hear. My job is to give my clients the information they need to make the best decision for themselves. Whether that means analyzing the numbers, researching a property, explaining a contract, developing a marketing strategy, or telling a client when I think something deserves a second look, I want them to know they have someone in their corner.
I hold multiple real estate designations and certifications, including ABR®, SRS, MRP, RENE, PSA, SFR®, SRES®, RSPS, HFR, and C2EX.
So, what does all of that mean?
Honestly, probably not much to the person reading this. It's a lot of letters after my name.
But to me, they mean something different.
During my first year in real estate, I spent A LOT of time educating myself. Not because I thought certifications would make me look more impressive, but because I quickly realized how many different situations can come up in real estate.
I knew I wasn't going to know everything, especially as a new agent. What I could do was educate myself enough to recognize different situations, ask better questions, and know where to go and who to ask when I needed more information.
I still don't pretend to know everything. I don't think any agent should. But I do know how to research, how to ask questions, and I'm not afraid to say, "I don't know, but I'll find out."
And honestly, that probably tells you more about me than all those letters do.
Outside of real estate, I am a wife, mom, retired Marine, and South Carolina homeowner and landowner. I understand that a move is about much more than a property. It can mean a new duty station, a new job, retirement, a growing family, an investment in your future, or simply a new chapter.
At the end of the day, I don't expect every person who visits my profile to choose me as their REALTOR®. I'm not the right agent for everyone, and that's okay.
But if you're looking for someone who will do the research, tell you what I really think, answer your questions, and make sure you have the information you need to make the best decision, then we might be a pretty good fit.
And if you've made it this far, thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me.
