Jan Walker grew up in a small town in Michigan where she enjoyed an idyllic, all-American-style childhood. Her father was a physician who moved the family to Florida when she was twelve and soon settled in Winter Park. Following in her parents' footsteps - a love of travel, music, art, science and a strong commitment to "doing the right thing," all of which have converged to define who Jan is today.
When it comes to matching a buyer with the "perfect home," more often than not it's the little things that can make or break a deal. Jan believes that it is an "art" to know what special features will connect with a particular buyer. The "science" part of real estate is understanding the nuances of marketing and the analysis of pricing and value. Jan knows how to gather all the information and keep her clients informed throughout the process, as well as be honest and straightforward with them.
"It's about my clients' wants and needs, not mine. I am not the one who needs to 'win,' it is my clients. I want them to walk away from the closing table with a smile knowing that they were very well represented and refer me to their friends and family," says Jan.
Giving back to the community is very important to her and she has served on many nonprofit, community and organizational boards, including the Winter Park Public Library, AdventHealth University Foundation, the Council of 101 at the Orlando Museum of Art and the Orlando Science Center... just to name a few.
Consistently one of the top-selling associates in Winter Park and in all of Central Florida, Jan has provided many hundreds of property valuations and guidance in selling for homeowners, expert witness testimony in real estate legal matters and exclusive buyer representation by referral. Licensed since 1991.
