About Janet
Jan Teel has been serving the Carolinas since 1984, when she and her late husband were transferred to the Piedmont with his employer, IBM. They set down roots in the Carolinas and never looked back, being delighted to raise their four children here, watching them grow and mature, alongside the growing skyline of the city they love so well.
Establishing her own brokerage, Teel Realty, in 1987, Jan has been through the changing landscape of economic challenges through the years. She has watched an exploding metropolis that forces one to constantly be learning new ways to serve the community and adapt to new methods of assisting her clients. Whether partnering with a family, an investor, or a single professional seeking the assistance of a seasoned real estate broker, Jan is a trusted ally in the market. Her years of experience and her empathy for those in transition have made her a trusted and respected voice in the Carolinas real estate industry.
Jan knows how tough it is to make the transitions required when one faces a transfer in employment. She understands how it impacts families to be relocated. She recognizes the value to professionals to make those all-important community connections that assure a new location becomes their home as quickly as possible. Having lost her husband of almost 40 years to a heart attack in 2013, Jan also knows what it is like to rebuild a life after such loss.
In 2014, Jan met and married a new partner, Dr. Dale Nealis (known as Dr. Dale to many clients). He had lost his wife the same year she lost her husband. Dr. Dale has an extensive background in home maintenance and construction and has been an amazing addition to the Teel Realty team. The two widowed partners have combined their efforts to assist folks who are going through transitions. They are particularly tender hearted toward those who have lost a family member to death and need empathetic partners to help them navigate through uncharted waters.
Jan Teel-Nealis wrote and published a book about her grief journey entitled, “Grieving by the Numbers…Glimpses of Glory.” It is available on Amazon and journals the story of her loss, giving insight into her real estate company and professional life. For those who wish to peek into the life of this expert professional and receive inspiration and hope, she encourages you to order a copy and enjoy the story.
