Born and raised in Charleston as the youngest of five children, Jeanne Jamme is fortunate that all her family still has roots in the area. When she says “roots”, she really means “roots” – Jeanne is from a farming family that has successfully grown things for over 100 years in this region. You are likely to find her selling fruit at the Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market every Tuesday at the Maple Ridge Farms booth.
Jeanne attended First Baptist Church School in downtown Charleston for 13 years and graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. She is an avid Tiger football fan! Her blood runs orange, but she gets along well with those who do not share her passion.
Professionally, Jeanne worked for the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce for 10 years as a Membership Manager, Director of National Sales, and a Special Projects Manager. Her love for big events led her to be the event director for several maritime related events, most notably the Around Alone sailing race and the Tall Ships festivals. She was also part of the host committee for the USTA Southern Sectional Tennis Tournament, and the Quarter Final Davis Cup matches held in Charleston.
Following her passion for events, Jeanne worked for the PGA of America as Director of Sales and Marketing for the 2007 Senior PGA Championship and 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island. These were two of the largest and most widely anticipated events in South Carolina’s history. Her five years with the PGA of America gave her the opportunity to work on numerous major Championships around the country and the 2012 Ryder Cup in Chicago. Jeanne talks a mean game of golf but have yet to break one hundred on her scorecard!
