Jim Murphy

Jim was born in Jacksonville, Florida to a military family. From Florida, the family moved to Africa where he lived near Casablanca on a Naval Base. When his father retired from the military the family relocated to Alabama where his folks had resided as children, and then to the Detroit area where Jim's dad became employed by Chrysler. As a young adult Jim managed supermarket, decided to go to college and graduated from Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas. Afterwards, he attended University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he completed his master’s degree in Social Work. He later met some folks from Alaska and decided to relocate here in 1989. After relocating here, he started Good Samaritan Counseling Center and eventually built it to the largest independently owned outpatient clinic in the State of Alaska. In 2003 he sold his clinic and office building to a Fortune 500 Company, and then began investing in real estate. He quickly learned that many realtors really did not care about his investments, and it seemed to him that they were focused on commission. Jim became licensed with the philosophy that if he would not buy a property himself or if he would not sell it to his sister, then he would not sell it to his buyer. With his caring attitude, and real estate investment knowledge, Jim has become one of the States leading realtors. In 2015 he will sell approximately one hundred properties himself. He has recently started building a real estate Team to expand his business and provide better service to his clients and the community. Jim is married and his wife Christina attends Medical School. The family loves to travel along with their 6-year-old son.
